About Cierra DoCouto, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Reclaim Your Confidence. Reconnect with Yourself. Heal from Toxic Relationships.
Hello and welcome! I'm Cierra DoCouto, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) dedicated to guiding individuals, particularly women and survivors of toxic relationships, through the process of healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.
If you’ve been through a toxic relationship—whether it's emotional abuse, gaslighting, or simply walking on eggshells—you know how deeply it can affect your sense of self. It’s not easy to leave, and the pain often lingers long after. In therapy with me, you don’t have to justify your feelings or explain why it still hurts. You are not broken. What you’ve been through is a significant experience, and healing is possible.
My Approach to Therapy
In my work, I use a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach to therapy. You are the expert of your own life, and my goal is to help you reconnect with your inner strength, rebuild your self-esteem, and create lasting change. I primarily utilize a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, ensuring that every step we take in therapy is focused on your healing process, at your own pace.
Together, we will work on:
Understanding the impact of toxic relationships: Gaslighting, manipulation, and emotional abuse can leave you questioning yourself. We'll work through the confusion and start to reclaim your personal truth.
Rebuilding self-confidence: You deserve to feel empowered and confident in your decisions. We'll focus on restoring your sense of worth and helping you trust your instincts again.
Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries: Building a life that feels safe and balanced is possible, and together we’ll create practical strategies for setting boundaries that protect your well-being.
Self-compassion and healing: Our work together will be rooted in self-compassion, allowing you to heal from past trauma while embracing the strength that lies within you.
My Qualifications & Experience
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from McMaster University and a Master’s in Counselling and Psychology from Yorkville University. I bring years of practical experience, having worked with a variety of individuals dealing with anxiety, trauma, emotional abuse, and challenges with self-esteem.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), supervised by a fully registered psychotherapist as per the CRPO guidelines.
Additionally, I am passionate about continued learning, ensuring that my approach stays current and relevant to your needs.
